The rodeo week of festivities is an opportunity to immerse yourself in North West Queensland’s local culture and community in a special year where we celebrate our 100-year jubilee alongside the Isa Rodeo’s 65-year milestone.

It’s exciting to be back in the red dirt arena for the 65th Mount Isa Mines Rodeo and to be celebrating together with Mount Isa Mines as they mark their 100th year. We have been overwhelmed by the generous support of our loyal and passionate event partners who help make this a world-class event. A special thank you to our awesome competitors whose dedication and athleticism is nothing short of incredible and to their families and friends who support their passion for our sport. Thank you to our visitors, we not only welcome you to Kalkadoon Arena, Buchanan Park but to North West Queensland and the city of Mount Isa. We hope you enjoy your stay and take home a whole bunch of great memories. WELCOME FROM THE MAYOR OF MOUNT ISA
Welcome to Mount Isa, and to the 2024 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo, the biggest and richest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.
The iconic Isa Rodeo is celebrating its 65th year of bringing world-class, heart-pounding rodeo entertainment to the city.
Each year, the event attracts thousands of people from across the region, state and Australia, who come to Mount Isa to see some of the country’s best cowboys and cowgirls go up against the nation’s top rodeo stock.
Mount Isa City Council is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s event, and to present the free Isa Street Festival during Rodeo Week.
Held on Wednesday night in the Mount Isa CBD, this year’s Street Festival includes a street parade, sideshow alley, market and food stalls, fireworks, and concerts by 2024 Australian Idol winner Dylan Wright and band, as well as Lucy Holmes, the star of the 100% KYLIE stage extravaganza.
The Isa Rodeo holds a special place in the hearts of many. Sixty-five years is a major milestone for the event, and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow from strength to strength in the future.
