Out west they say all roads lead to Mount Isa, so to make the most of this epic journey of a life-time, we’ve compiled some suggested self-drive itineraries for your rodeo road trip.

Rodeo Road Trip from Brisbane via the Matilda Highway
This spectacular road trip leaves from Brisbane and heads west along the Warrego Highway to the historic town of Charleville, home of the Cosmos Centre and new Bilby Experience.
From here we head north up the Matilda Highway taking in some iconic outback scenery and legendary local hospitality through the heart of Outback Queensland and onto the Isa Rodeo.
Rodeo Road Trip from Rockhampton via the Capricorn Way
Explore the Tropic of Capricorn along a 1,500 km journey known as The Capricorn Way.
Departing from Australia’s Beef Capital, the city of Rockhampton we head into the heart of Outback Queensland to Longreach.
Our journey then continues north through iconic Winton and onto Mount Isa where the party starts!
Rodeo Road Trip Reef to Rodeo from Townsville via the Overlander’s Way
This 904 kilometre journey on sealed roads takes you from reef to rodeo from the North Queensland City of Townsville rubbing shoulders with the Great Barrier Reef.
This is the Overlander’s Way.
