This year’s Mount Isa Mines Rodeo is back live on the famous red dirt arena of Buchanan Park, and it’s famous art union is back to boost fundraising for the local community.
Isa Rodeo Chief Executive Officer Ms Natalie Flecker said tickets were now on sale for the rodeo’s popular Art Union.
The art union represents a two-pronged contribution to the local community by the rodeo firstly purchasing the prizes (just under $130,000 annually) and secondly as a fundraiser, according to Ms Flecker.
“The rodeo’s art union is one of our major fundraisers, and has helped the event contribute almost $5 million back to local community organisations,” she said. “Only 3,000 tickets will be sold and we believe it’s pretty hard to find an art union with better odds to win prizes worth $132,627.”
The art union’s first prize is a Toyota Landcruiser Wagon 200 GXL Wagon from Bell & Moir Toyota (valued at $99,295), second prize is a Toyota Yaris Cross GX from Bell & Moir Toyota (valued at $30,332) and third prize is a $3,000 Helloworld Mount Isa travel voucher.
“An art union ticket is $100, and it could be the best $100 you have ever spent,” said Ms Flecker, who paid tribute to Bell & Moir Toyota and Helloworld Mount Isa for their long-term support.
Tickets are available online via www.isarodeo.com.au/tickets/art-union. The winners will be drawn and announced at the rodeo on Sunday, August 15 at 12.30pm.
The 2021 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo will be held from 12 to 15 August, 2021.
